Details from europe
I shouldn’t be surprised that most of my photos from my time in Europe thus far, are of the ground, the texture of walls, and particularly interesting doorways or shapes. And food. I’ve been eating well. Here are some favourite patterns, textures, and shapes so far.
First, Amsterdam, a brick lover’s paradise. I was immediately taken by the roads that were under construction - brick pavers carefully removed and waiting in large construction bags. To be replaced when the pipe work was completed.
Then Paris, where I traded red brick for weathered cobblestone and stone built walls. Unfortunately most of the city’s original cobblestone streets were paved over many years ago - apparently, so the townspeople could no longer dig out the stones and throw them during riots.
And finally, Florence. Italy has definitely captured my heart and soul. I’ll write more on that later. But here, some visual highlights from my brief morning in Firenze before heading to Tuscany.
Until next time.
